The paper presents a brief history of writing school chronicles, which are one of the most important sources for studying the history of the development of schools and their immediate and wider surroundings. We decided to digitize this type of documentation because, on one hand, it allows us to preserve the originals, and on the other hand enables users to have easier and remote access to reproductions. The paper describes the process of preparing the physical material for digitization, which was entrusted to an external provider, and finally, the procedures necessary for publishing digitized material in the Virtual Archival Reading Room are outlined.
