Menopause is a natural process that can cause various symptoms, such as hot flushes, night sweats, irritability, and difficulty concentrating. While hormone therapy is effective, it is not suitable for all women, leading to the frequent use of herbal preparations. This article provides a detailed analysis of the therapeutic effects and safety of black cohosh and phytoestrogen-containing plants such as soy, red clover, hops, and fenugreek. Extensive clinical studies and meta-analyses indicate the effectiveness of black cohosh in alleviating menopausal symptoms. Similarly, meta-analyses confirm the effects of isoflavones from soy and red clover, while findings on hops and fenugreek remain less conclusive. The European Medicines Agency recognizes black cohosh as scientifically proven to be effective and safe, while other plants are currently not officially recommended for managing menopausal symptoms.
