Methods of early cancer detection are crucial in ensuring efficient treatment of cancerous diseases. There are many well-established screening programmes that help identify individuals who might be at risk of developing illness. These tests are implemented with a view to maintaining a low population percentage of people with progressive neoplasia. Diagnostic imaging, i.e. CT, PET, MRI, is also a standard in cancer diagnosis. In addition, many new sophisticated methods that use various tumour biomarkers as their basis are being developed, such as liquid biopsy - methods that are proven to be less invasive and require less time.
