Ti so ga nasilno osvobodili tega življenja v oktobru 1943. Kar niso storili sedemdesetletnemu starčku Nemci, to so storili slovenski bratje. Prišli so v Ljubljano Nemci s svojo Gestapo. Besede svoboda vesti in prepričanja ni v komunističnem besednjaku. Sodalities of Greater Cleveland will meet at St. John's Cathedral for the installation of new officers to the Diocesan Sodality Union. Following the ceremony there will be 'Benediction. All members of St. Mary Sodality are requested to be present at this service. WE ACKNOWLEDGE The gift of S 10.00 presented to the Athletic Club by the Malovasic Family of 391 E. 162 St, Permit us to express our thanks by saying, "Thank You!" JUNIORS DEFEATED THEN VICTORIOUS Our Juniors played a basketball game on January 2nd of this year. After d struggle the outcome favored St. Joseph's "A" team, our Collinwood v rivals. It seems, we lacked a bit of practice but we will be prepared hereafter. We do promise. On January 3rd, again our Juniors prayed St. Joseph's but this time it was the "B" team. The first period saw St. Joseph's leading by one point, 4 to 3. Our boys finally caught on to their tricks and the half-time score was 6 to 6. However, after three quarters of play St. Joseph's were ahead 7 to 6. Previous to the game, Mr. De Marco told (he gang they shouldn't let the other boys shoot and that we shouldn't be "too easy" on them. We are sure Stan Urankar took his words toojiter-ally. With about two minutes of the last quarter played, Stan who stopped many a shot was fouled out of the game on 5 personals. That was some blow, but the final score was — don't worry — St. Mary's won, 8 to 7. To us it seems, we will have quite a few victories from now on. What do you say, boys? ? ? ? OUR BOWLING NEWS DON BOSCO SAINTS HALT , SVETEK FUNERAL HOME; ACME DRY CLEANERS WIN THREE One of the best exhibitions of record-breaking feats, thus far this season was performed in the Don Bosco Saints and the Svetek Funeral Home encounter. In this match three new league records were established, two by the Saints and one by the Svetek Funeral Home. This seems to be the usual spirit amongst the men anyway. Heard Joseph Kozar, just released from the Army, spent the evening with us at the alleys. Why not come more often, Joe? ? ? All the iboys on Don Bosco's team are single, probably that is the reason why they lack rooters. Is it? ? ? There was plenty of yelling when Mike Zlate made a "beer frame." We know Mike is more generous than Stan Zagorc pictured him to be, when he called out "Bring out the five glasses and one beer." We know you were just "Ribbing" him, Stan. Must congratulate the "Bachelor team," Don Bosco, for their wonderful showing. The Dave's Shoes and Kocin Decorators had very few rooters out Sunday. Why? ? Is everybody busy? ?
