Closed systems for distribution of natural gas are specific. They are excluded distribution systems, whose function is to distribute natural gas on a geographically closed industrial or business area, or in an area of common services. The authors conduct a first in-depth analysis of the regulation of such systems. They re-search the regulation at both the European Union level, including the practice of the Court of European Union, and domestic regulatory and nomotehnical solutions. They perform a short comparative overview of different national approaches to closed systems, both within and outside of the European Union. They emphasise their expectations regarding the potential future regulation of the narrow field, also in light of the proposal of Gas Supply Act.
