The Classification of Fonds and Collections - Standard Scheme is the result of several years of efforts to create a uniform classification of archival fonds and collections in Slovenian public archives. The e-ARH.si project envisages several scenarios of harmonization or synchronization of existing databases of archival rrecords. One of the prerequisites for achieving this goal is the use of a unified classification of fonds and collections in order to link the existing databases at the highest level of describtion.This will enable the administrators of fonds and collections in Slovenian public archives to realize modern informational needs for classification of fonds and collections into a systematically regulated and long-term substantively sustainable system of tectonics of archival material within public archival institutions and, on the other hand, enable users of archival records to search the tectonics in all Slovenian public archives. The Classification of Fonds and Collections - Standard Scheme contains methodological starting points for the creation of classification levels, classification marks, titles, classification rules and the classification scheme.
