In the article the author presents the content and meaning of different forms of justice (distributive, commutative and corrective) in the Old Testament. Understanding different concepts of justice of a particular environment is always dependent on its fundamental ideas. Thus the understanding of different forms of justice in the Old Testament strongly depends on understanding the God's justice in the Old Testament. At first glance it seems to be rigorous and vindictive, and his righteousness resembles strict equality. Because of that, we are looking for such elements in all other biblical concepts of justice. But God in the Old Testament is not vengeful. His justice is absolute, covenantal and salvatory. On this basis, we can see distributive justice as an undeserved gift, related with care for the good of the community. In commutative justice we can see fair treatment and mutual respect, and we can understand corrective justice as a restorative rather than retributive justice. Consequently, defined justice is also consistent with the main ideal of justice as the supreme ideal of mutual relationships.
