Vendar pa Sveti Duh ni enkrat za vselej odgovoril na vsa vprašanja, ki jih bo pred apostole in kristjane postavljalo življenje. Z njegovim prihodom se je zastor šele odgrnil in predstava šele začela. Komaj so dodobra prišli k sebi, so uvideli, da bodo morali zastaviti vso svojo prizadevnost, če bodo hoteli, da bo oznanjevanje evangelija uspešno. Razšli so se na vse strani, potovali iz kraja v kraj, začenjali vedno znova, nastopali pred vedno novim poslušalstvom. Včasih so se veselili zgrinjanja množic, drugič jih je celo peščica najzvestejših puščala na cedilu. Razvoj dogodkov jih je silil, da so morali neprestano preverjati, kje je prava resnica. Ni jim bilo dano takoj in zlahka vse razumeti. Koliko molitev, premišljevanj, posvetovanj in celo prepirov je bilo treba, preden so spoznali, kakšen odnos naj zavzamejo do spreobrnjenih poganov in kaj naj počno z nekaterimi Mojzesovimi predpisi. V poznejših stoletjih so se morali spopasti z zapletenimi teološkimi vprašanji, kako razlagati Jezusovo rojstvo iz Očeta in iz Marije; kako ohraniti čist nauk o enem Bogu v treh Osebah; kako je Jezus božji in Marijin Sin, pravi Bog in pravi človek. Tudi danes Cerkev išče in premišljuje, kakor je iskala in premišljevala, odkar jo je Duh poklical v življenje. Drugi vatikanski koncil in sinode po njem so dokaz tega iskanja. Morali so tudi na svoji koži občutiti, da oznanjajo Kristusa križanega, poganom nespamet in Judom pohujšanje. Ta zgodba je stara že dva tisoč let in se ponavlja še danes. To ni znamenje, da Sveti Duh danes ne bi deloval; nasprotno, znamenje je, da na prav ta način vedno znova odgrinja svoje zastore. Slovenske Sole V soboto, 19. maja 2012 so otroci Slovenske šole imeli zadnji dan pouka. Najprej smo se zbrali k sveti maši in se Bogu zahvalili za preteklo leto. Ob koncu svete maše sta dve učenki, Amanda Nicole Novak in Leah Marie Škrel, prejeli zaključno spričevalo in diplomo. V imenu Kanadskega Slovenskega Kongresa sta priznanja /medalje/ izročila dekletoma Frank Rihar in Jerry Ponikvar. Nato pa je v imenu Slovenske šole prizna -nje izročila še ravljateljica Sandy Allen. S tem se je uradno zaključilo šolsko leto sobotne Slovenske šole. Učenci so dan preživeli bolj razgibano in veselo, saj so se v šolskem avtobusu v spremstvu učiteljic in staršev, odpeljali na izlet v Wanderland v Toronto. Tudi toplo in sončno vreme je pomagalo, da je bil dan toliko lepši za vse. Second Reading Galatians 5:16-25 The life of the Spirit and the life of self-indulgence are totally opposed. Gospel John 15:26-27; 16:12-15 The Holy Spirit is the Spirit of truth and will lead us into all truth. Gospel Teaching On the roof of the Reichstag building in Berlin there is a beautiful glass dome. People can walk around inside it and enjoy a marvellous view of the city. At night this dome is lit up, sending a bright light across the surrounding area. Norman Foster, the English architect who designed it, said it is meant to be a symbol of clarity and transparency, an open and honest sign of government for the German nation. As the person chosen to restore the building, Foster said that he was guided by four ideas: this famous building was a democratic forum; it was to be accessible to all people; there must be a sensitivity to history, and a sensitivity to the environment. It was into this renewed building, of the renewed and united Germany, that Pope Benedict XVI stepped, when he made his state visit to his native land in September 2011. On that first appointment of his four-day visit, the Pope addressed the assembled political body of the Reichstag. He gave a powerful address that day on those very same ideas that had informed the rebuilding of the parliament. The democratic forum speaks of our ability as people to study and understand our own human nature. All people must be embraced, none excluded. We are to learn the lessons of history, and to have a heart ready to listen to nature and what nature tells us. Very powerfully the Pope stated that the Christian faith has never proposed religion as a basis for social order, but has always appealed to human reason and to human nature. Gospel Teaching When the Holy Spirit of God came down on the assembled disciples, on Pentecost day, and the disciples began to speak, they addressed themselves to people of every nation, and those people of every nation were able to understand what was being said to them. This first act of God's Holy Spirit is a message of unity and love for all people to receive. This amazing power of speaking in different languages and of being understood was a great sign of God's Spirit at work in the world. But even on that first occasion, some people simply scoffed and talked about the apostles drinking too much wine. The world has not changed. That is why words, in themselves, are never enough. Witness is required. The testimony of a good life will speak more powerfully than any arguments or ideas, no matter how brilliant they may be. For this reason we hear St Paul today giving us a list of the virtues that inform a holy life. The virtues are the fruits of the Holy Spirit. If we walk in the Spirit, these virtues will fill our life - 'But when the Spirit of truth comes he will lead you to the complete truth. love, joy, peace; patience, kindness, goodness; trustfulness, gentleness and self-control. By contrast, the selfish life, the life that cares not about others, will demonstrate the vices that destroy human society and relationships - sexual irresponsibility, jealousy and quarrelling among them. Application In today's world, where the very idea of truth is often side-lined in favour of utility and practicality, Pope Benedict made an impassioned plea for us to listen to our own human nature, and to learn what is the truth about ourselves. There, on the floor of the Bundestag, the German parliament, he made a request for a public debate. The Church is composed of human beings and we all have a part to play, and something to say about how we live in this world. In that debate, the Pope recognises that the secular world, our opponent in the debate, plays a very important role for the Church, as a healthy critic, calling us to greater purity and goodness of life. St Paul, great preacher and writer of so many letters that he was, still regarded his life as the greatest witness he could give. People could look at him and read his behaviour, rather than his words. Be imitators of me, he said, as I am of Christ. So, on this birthday of the Church, we rejoice to be members of Christ Jesus, and to share in his Spirit. We pray to be purified of our vices, and to grow in the virtues, those fruits of the Spirit. We are called to witness to the Lord by the simplicity of our lives, and, as members of the Church, to walk in the Spirit, who will lead us into all truth. Gradnja dvigala počasi napreduje. V soboto 9. junija ob 11:00 a.m. pa bo škof imel mašo tudi na Gate of Heaven pokopališču. Vsi vabljeni, da se maše udeležite. POKOJNI_ V nedeljo, 20. maja 2012 je Bog poklical k sebi našega farana IVANA SOBOČANA. Pokojni je bil v 83. letu starosti. V sredo, 23. maja smo v Markey Dermodi Funeral Home molili za pokoj njegove duše. Moški zbor »Bled« pa je zapel dve pesmi. Pogrebna sveta maša je bila v naši cerkvi v petek, 25. maja ob deseti uri in nato pogreb na pokopališču Our Lady of the Angels. Iskreno sožalje domačim, pe posebej ženi Ceciliji. Naj pokojni Ivan počiva v božjem miru in Bog naj mu bo plačnik za vse dobro, ki ga je storil za župnijsko skupnost. Žena Cecilija se zahvaljuje vsem, ki ste ji stali ob strani v teh dneh, vsem, ki ste se poslovili od Ivana v Funeral Home, se udeležili svete maše in pogreba. Hvala gospodu župniku za sveto mašo, moškemu zboru Bled za lepo zapete pesmi in tudi pevkam župnijskega zbora za petje pri maši.
