To je raziskovalni, tehnološki in razvojni projekt, ki ga v imenu Komisije Evropske skupnosti financira pristojni Generalni direktorat za informacijsko družbo. Projekt WINDS je del IST, Information Societies Technology, programa za razvoj tehnologije informacijskih družb. doseženi cilji, namen in rezultati Poglavitni cilj projekta je prispevati k reorganizaciji pedagoških, kulturnih in funkcionalnih vidikov študija projektiranja na univerzi v smislu razvoja pedagoških instrumentov, primernih za poučevanje sodobnih metod projektiranja z računalnikom, ustvarjanja kompleksno razvejanega pedagoškega okolja, vzpodbudnega za samoučenje in multidisciplinarno povezovanje, oblikovanje odprte strukture virtualne univerze z uporabo umetne inteligence. Kot raziskovalni in tehnološki projekt razvija WINDS spletno okolje za poučevanje projektiranja (oblikovanja), ki naj zagotovi za univerzo tipične izobraževalne vire:administracijo, predavanja, vaje, seminarje, profesorje, knjižnice, sodelovanje, idr., dostopne po internetu s pomočjo posebej prirejenih orodij, brskalnikov in komercialnih CAD sistemov. Učinkovitost novega izobraževalnega pristopa bo preverjena s poskusno organizacijo prave on-line fakultete, ki jo bo po predvidevanjih vpisalo najmanj 500 študentov na več kot 20 rednih tečajih, vrednotenih po evropskem sistemu točkovanja. Projekt WINDS seje začel z aprilom 1999 in se bo zaključil julija 2004. Poleg novih znanstvenih spoznanj in tehnoloških inovacij ostaja glavna ambicija projekta razvijanje didaktičnih izkušenj mednarodnega izobraževanja na daljavo v okviru virtualne WINDS univerze tudi po zaključku projekta. problematika v arhitekturi, umestitev obravnavane teme v te tokove in njen pomen Fleksibilnost mrežne didaktike je bilo osnovno načelo raziskovalnega projekta. Virtualna univerza WINDS je organizirana v treh oddelkih: za arhitekturno projektiranje, za okoljsko in stavbno tehnologijo in za upravljanje konstrukcij. Predmeti (WINDS Course), ki so povezani v vsebinskem in mentorskem sistemu posameznih oddelkov, imajo teoretski in projektni del. Organizirani so v učnih enotah (learning unit), ki so zasnovane kot samostojne didaktične in disciplinarne celote. Študenti lahko vpišejo celotni predmet ali kombinirajo izbrane enote različnih predmetov v verigo teoretičnih in aplikativnih izmenjav, usklajenih med predmeti (integrative modul) znotraj določenega oddelka ali med oddelki. It is a research, technological and development project, which is financed by the General directorate for information society in the name of the European Union's Commission. The WINDS project is part ofthe development programme IST Information Society's Technologies. intentions, goals and results The driving goal of the project is to contribute to reorganisation of educational, cultural andfunctional aspects of teaching design at universities. Its rationale includes development of teaching instruments suited to contemporary computer-based design methods, creation of a complex diversified teaching environment that stimulates self-teaching and multi-disciplinary linkages and creation of an open virtual university structure by using artificial intelligence. The WINDS' research and technological project is the development of a network environment for teaching design, which should ensure all education resources typical for universities: administration, lectures, exercises, seminars, professors, libraries, participation etc., and make them available on the web by using specially adapted tools, browsers and commercial CAD systems. This new educational approach's efficiency will be tested with a pilot real on-line faculty, which will enrol at least 500 students in more than 20 regular courses, evaluated according to the European points system. Theproject WINDSbegan in April 1999 and will be completed in July 2004. Besides new scientific findings and technological innovations, the project's prime target is further development of didactic experience in international distance teaching within the WINDS virtual university, even after the project's completion. architectural issues, positioning the topic in ongoing debate and its' significance Flexibility of network didactics was the basic principle supporting the research project. The WINDS virtual university is organised in three sections: architectural design, environmental and building technology and management of structures. Particular sections of the WINDS course are held together by content and the mentorship system. They have a theoretical and a practical part. They are organised in learning units, which are planned as independent didactic entities. Students can enrolfor a whole subject or combine selected units from different subjects, thus forming a chain of theoretical and applicative exchanges, harmonised between the subjects (integrative module) within a certain section or between sections.
