Molitev je iskanje tega velikega, neskončnega Boga, vsakdanje iskanje, vsakdanje občestvo Bogom, vsakdanja delitev| z Bogom: dam mu polovico svojega življenja in On mi da polovico svoje moči. Ta molitev je' pač pravi studenec in rodovitna tla vsakega pravega srečanja z Bogom. Druga srečanja z Bogom gredo mimo, večkrat so kot bežen mimohod, ne pa globoko, bistveno sožitje. Molitev je njiva, na kateri more rasti srečanje z Bogom. Bogate klase srečanja z Bogom boš mogel nesti v svoj skedenj le tedaj, če je njiva molitve dobro obdelana. Osemdeset odstotkov uspeha je marljivost. Hvalim marljivega, ne nadarjenega. Ne gre za nadarjenost. Nekateri celo propadejo, ker se imajo za nadarjene. Marljivi store mnogokrat več kot nadarjeni. Marljivost naredi mnogo, skoraj vse. Pa tudi pri Bogu velja pridnost več kot nadarjenost. Osemdeset odstotkov uspeha izvira iz marljivosti in ne iz nadarjenosti. Preprosto moraš biti marljiv. Moraš se truditi, iskati Boga. Vsak dan si moraš vzeti čas za Boga, potem boš napredoval. Kdor je poročen, je vsak dan poročen. Če si res povezan z Bogom, si z njim vsak dan povezan. Dan za dnem moraš stopiti pred njegovo sodbo. Vsak dan boš odpovedal, zato ga moraš vsak dan prositi, da te kljub temu ljubi, ti da moči in te blagoslovi. In vsak dan ga moraš vprašati: »Kako si zadovoljen z menoj, moj Bog?« Do srečanja z Bogom vodi mnogo poti, mnogo priložnosti. Toda prava njiva, na kateri vzkali seme in prinaša sad, je oni tihi čas molitve, v katerem moraš iskati in najti Boga. V nedeljo 10. junija smo obhajali praznik sv. Rešnjega Telesa in Krvi. Pri sveti maši je pel mešani zbor, po maši smo imeli procesijo s tremi oltarji, ki so sih pripravile članice Oltarnega društva in Katoliške ženske zveze. Hvala vsem sodelavcem, ki so se potrudili, da je bila procesija lepo urejena in da smo lahko slovesno obhajali ta praznik. Somaševal je tudi g. Goran Kuhar, župnik iz Murske sobote, ki je v teh dneh na obisku, hvala tudi njemu za vso pomoč. Po maši sva se odpravila še k slovenski skupnosti v London, v dvorano društva Triglav kjer je g. Goran vodil mašo in procesijo. Kar lepa skupina se nas je zbrala. Pripravili so prav tako tri oltarje, vsakega pri eni lipi, deklice pa so potresale cvetje. Hvala vsem, ki so pripravili oltarje in sodelovali pri maši in procesiji. First Reading Ezekiel 17:22-24 In the first reading the prophet Ezekiel brings comfort to God's people with the promise that their fortunes will be restored. This work comes about only by God's loving act, through the same power that makes great and beautiful trees grow from small shoots. Second Reading 2 Corinthians 5:6-10 Paul reminds us that it is not through our own sight and certainty that we can have confidence about what lies ahead, but through faith in Jesus. Walking in this faith we find our pleasure in Christ, whatever the condition of our life. Gospel Mark 4:26-34 Jesus longs to bring his disciples into an understanding of the kingdom of God. The stories he uses for his friends are stories of the mystery of growth and fruitfulness in creation, the mystery of God's loving presence at work in the world. f \ "Night and day, while he sleeps, when he is awake, the seed is sprouting and growing; how, he does not know." V___J Illustration The family's pet dog was about to have puppies. Everyone was very excited, especially the younger children. After much thought, Mum and Dad thought it would be a good experience for the children to see the puppies born - a natural intro- duction to an important process of life. The time came, and all went well. Cynthia, the youngest, was spellbound by it all - the most amazing thing she'd witnessed in her six years of life. When it was all over, her thoughtful silence was broken at last, with a question: "Well, I can see how they got out... but how did they get in there?" This is the sort of question well known to most parents; each deals with it in the way that seems to be right at the time. But this little girl's question points us to a very everyday, but rather mysterious, reality. However scientifically accurate and detailed our reply to Cynthia's question may be, it will never quite "explain" how her new, individual puppies have come to be. The coming to be of life where before there was none - in plants, or animals, or human beings - remains startling and always new. We get used to it; and it can take a child's directness to remind us of how, deep down, we don't really know how this has just gone on happening, while we were busy with other things. Gospel Teaching It seems significant that, when Jesus wanted to speak of the great mystery of the kingdom of God, what he turned to were these same everyday, taken-for-granted mysteries of growth and fruit-fulness, as we hear in today's Gospel. So often, the stories Jesus tells are drawn from the world of planting, harvesting, shepherding, pruning. We can think of him as someone who spent time watching and reflecting upon these patterns of day-to-day life. In his teaching we can see how Jesus recognises, in these mundane realities, places of grace, and life-giving, and God's work. Men and women work the land, and plant the seed, and reap harvests; but the growing itself, the journey from the tiny seed to the great tree teeming with life - this goes on without us. God's loving power is secretly at work making our routine efforts abundant with life and goodness. And this, Jesus tells us, is what God's kingdom is like. To preach the kingdom, as Jesus did, always carries with it an element of risk. Indeed, in Jesus' own time it sounded to some - both friends and enemies - like a call to action, even a call to arms. But this constant referring to the mystery of life itself warns against such an action-oriented read- ing of the kingdom. Just like the prophets before him, Jesus urges his followers to trust not in their own efforts or plans, but in the mystery of God's powerful, ever-creative love for them. The sower still has to prepare the land, and sow the seed; but the real work of new life happens in God's secret ways, while the sower sleeps, and gets on with the rest of life. Everyoi?® Welcorpe! MAŠA na pokopališču: »Holy Sepulchre« V soboto 23. junija ob 11:00 a.m. bo sveta maša na pokopališču Holy Sepulchre. Mašo bo vodil hamiltonski škof Douglas Crosby, OMI, DD. Vsi vabljeni, da se maše udeležite. BARAGOVI DNEVI: 21. - 24. september 2012 Kot se že seznanjeni, je škof Friderik Baraga, po zadnjem napredovanju postopka v Rimu, dobil naziv »častitljivi«. To pomeni, da se ga sedaj lahko uradno postavi in priporoči v češčenje in priprošnjo. Letošnje naše romanje v Baragove kraje -MARQUETTE, bo od 21. do 24. septembra 2012. Avtobus imamo rezerviran in je samo še dobrih 10 prostih mest. Te dni sta Terezija in Vera našle tudi prenočišča - letos zaradi oddaljenosti prespimo trikrat. Ker se v tistem času v Marquettu dogajajo še druge prireditve, je bilo kar težko najti hotel. Vendar tudi to nam je uspelo. Zaenkrat smo preračunali vse stroške, ki vključujejo trikratno spanje v hotelu z »Continental« zajtrkom, dva banketa in prevoz z avtobuom in vse skupaj znese po prvih izračunih približno $350. Natančno ceno bomo izvedeli, ko dobimo uradni račun iz hotela. Kdor bi se še zanimal za to romanje, naj se čimprej prijavi Tereziji Sarjaš /905-560-1218/ ali Veri Gonza /905-560-0089/. Hvala vsem za darove. 12th Annual Slovenian Day Camp: August 7 - August 10, 2012_ This year will be our 12th Annual Slovenian Day Camp! We again welcome Slovenian Campers to our 12th Annual Summer Day Camp here at our Parish. We have a week Planned with exciting and fun activities for all our kids. There will be lots of crafts, sports, singing, dancing, Water Fun and of course our week wouldn't be complete without a few surprises. We hope that our Slovenian youngsters will take this opportunity to enjoy the company of great friends and ready to make new friends share in laughter, cheering and a week filled with fun.
