Ljubljana, republiško središče, se m ora nujno izviti iz prostor­ ske utesnjenosti splošnoizobraževalnega knjižničarstva. To ji n are­ kujeta živahen gospodarski in kulturni u trip in politični sistem. Razvejano m režo splošnoizobraževalnih knjižnic kaže člm prej prila­ goditi potrebam in upoštevati razvojne zahteve. Najbolj pereče opozarjajo bele lise knjižničnih uslug v sedanjih pogojih. A vtorica osvetli dosedanji razvoj, podrobno razgrne prostorsko problem atiko ln Jo razširi v n a črt splošnoizobraževalnega knjižni­ čarstva do leta 2000. Od sedanjih SIK s 4162 m* prostora naj bi dosegli stanje, kot ga predpisuje zakon o knjižničarstvu iz leta 1982 ln kot ga določajo standardi in norm ativi. UDC 727.8:027.4(497.12 Lj.) The busy econom ic and cultural pulse of life as well as political system dictate the solution of the problem s. The net­ w ork of public libraries should be adjusted to the requirem ents. The dem ands of the developm ent program e should be considered as soon as possible. The m ost urgent problem seems to be the lackof locations for libraries and the Incapability of m odernization of lib­ ra ry service a t present conditions. The author points out the present state of developm ent, gives th e detailed description to the space problem s and expands it into the developm ent program e of public llbrarianshlp till the year 2000. The present state of public libraries w ith 4162 m ' space capacities should develop in such a w ay th at it would fulfill the dem ands of the law of llbrarianshlp and the provisions of the standards for public libraries. 1.
