Navajamo prvo najdbo te vrste v Turčiji. Forty-six species of Agathis are known from the West Palaearctic region. Of these, 29 have been recorded from Europe (Simbolotti and van Achterberg, 1999). Generally, agathidines are more diverse in humid tropical regions but the genus Agathis is more speciose in temperate regions. According to Nixon (1986) Agathis-Microdus-group genera are restricted mainly to the Northern Hemisphere. Hitherto, 18 species of Agathis have been reported from Turkey (Nixon, 1986; Zettel and Beyarslan, 1992; Cetin and Beyarslan, 2001; Simbolotti and van Achterberg, 1999; Beyarslan et.al. 2002a, 2002b). We present here the first record of Agathis rubens Tobias, 1963 from Turkey. Agathis rubens was described on the specimens from Kazakhstan (Transcaucasia) (Tobias, 1963) and has never been recorded in any other region up to now. We found it in Western Turkey (Afyon Prov. Sincanli. Giiney, 1250 m, 39° 08' 16N, 30° 58' 37E, 30. 6. 1998, 1$). The material is deposited in the Zoological Museum of the Department of Biology, Trakya University (TU), Turkey. The species differs from other species of the genus by very weak or undeveloped notauli, combined with almost uniform reddish-yellow body and dark wings. The female is 4.7 mm long.
