PROFESIONALIZACIJA, POGOJ ZA USPEH dr. Silva Novljan, Narodna in univerzitetna knjižnica, Ljubljana UDK 023-057:027.8(497.4) Povzetek V knjižnice se še vedno namešča delavce brez znanja knjižničarstva, iz česar sklepamo, da ustanovitelj znanja o organizaciji in upravljanju knjižnične zbirke ne upošteva kot osnovo za njeno učinkovitost pri zadovoljevanju različnih potreb in želja posameznikov in skupin. Nepomembnost profesionalne knjižničarske izobrazbe smo analizirali s primer- janjem bralnih dosežkov učencev v osnovnih šolah, kjer dela v šolski knjižnici delavec z znanjem knjižničarstva, z dosežki učencev, kjer je v knjižnici zaposlen delavec brez tega znanja. Prednosti, ki jih v razvoju bralne pismenosti učencev uveljavlja knjižničar s strokovnim znanjem knjižničarstva pred v knjižnici zapo- selnimi delavci brez tega znanja, so opazne tudi na primarni stopnji, kjer je poudarek na motivaciji in izboru knjig. UDC 023-057:027.8(497.4) Summary In libraries, workers vvithout any knovvledge of librarianship are stili being employed; this fact is conductive to the conclusion that the knovvledge in organ- ization and management of library collections does not appear to the founder as the basis for the performance of libraries in fulfilling different needs and vvishes of individuals and groups. The relative unimportance of professional education in libraries was analysed on the basis of comparison of reading achievements of elementary school pupils in schools where librarians with or vvithout education in librarianship are vvorking. The advantages offered by a librarian with professional knovvledge over those offered by a librarian vvithout this knovvledge on the development of reading literacy are evident already on the primary level vvhere the stress is on motivation and choice of books.
