PROTEST AGAINST AGGRESSION IN CROATIA
Slovenes experts, who are in charge of care and preservation of our cultural and natural heritage horrified and speechless witness the irrational raging of the Yugoslav army, which has been together with Serbian terroristic groups brutally destroying cultural monuments on the whole territory of Croatia. The Yugoslav army deliberately aims its deadly weapon to the cultural monuments; !hc jewels of the renaissance art such as the cathedral in Šibenik, baroque castles and churches, rural and urban centers like Osijck with its secession town center. Thus neglecting the Hague Convention also signed by our government. Even the folk works arc not secured from the army attacks. The villages of Kijevo, Celije, Polača, Sarvaš and many others were completely destroyed and thus their population forced to leave their homes.
Wc protest with indignation against violence which is in no doubt beyond all comparison in the latest history of civilized Europe. The demolishing of the century-old heritage is barbaric and wc feel strongly ashamed of it.
We must not allow insane generals lo destroy Dubrovnik.
