DIMINUATION OF INFORMATION BARRIERS THROUGH INTERNATIONAL CO-OPERATION

The author defines information barriers, deals with their effects to users, and enumerates some of them. Political, legal, time, economic, geographical, terminological, and linguistic barriers are treated. Libraries can diminish information barriers by co-operating in international organizations such as IFLA, IATUL, FID, and by international exchange of publications.
