Editorial Editorial As Associate Editors of English Issues of the Journal of Criminal Justice and Security, we are pleased to present this issue devoted to fear of crime in South Eastern Europe. The Guest Editors of this special issue, in addition to Gorazd Meško, are Helmut Kury from Germany, Matevž Bren and Ljubo Vošnjak from Slovenia. The idea of producing this volume grew out of a meeting at the Faculty of Criminal Justice and Security in Ljubljana in 2008, where it was decided to conduct a comprehensive comparative study on fear of crime in the capital cities of the republics of former Yugoslavia. The efforts resulted in the articles published in this issue of the Journal of Criminal Justice and Security. The issue begins with an introductory article presenting the comparative study. It is followed by an article on fear of crime in all capitals included in the study. The rest of the articles present analysis on national surveys on fear of crime in Ljubljana, Zagreb, Sarajevo and Skopje. We hope the reader will find this special issue both interesting and educational, as well as useful for further research on fear of crime. We would like to thank the guest editors and authors for their contribution to the Journal of Criminal Justice and Security. In addition, special thanks to Nataša Knap for the technical editing of the special issue. Gorazd Meško & Chuck Fields Associate Editors of English Issues 381
