The article focuses on the effectiveness of nature protection of protected areas in the Ljubljana Marshes. Presented alongside the description of the physical geographic and human geographic characteristics are also the methodology, field evaluation, based on location criteria, criteria of the natural state and orderliness, and criteria of land use. The results point to the fact that natural reservations of the Ljubljana Marshes are, on average, better protected than natural monuments. Članek se osredotoča na učinkovitost varovanja tamkajšnjih zavarovanih območij. Poleg naravno- in družbenogeografskega opisa so predstavljene tudi metode dela in terensko vrednotenje, ki je temeljilo na lokacijskih kriterijih, kriterijih stanja narave ter urejenosti in rabi tal.
