It emphasises its inherent inconsistencies and argues that the Romantic discourse of innocence sequesters the child into a seemingly separate, static and timeless world of nature. The child is thus transformed into a blank and transcendent entity that appears to be floating free of historically and socially specific determinants. In this way, the child is emptied of its material specificities and denied the status of a subject"},{"@xml:lang":"sl","#text":"Prispevek obravnava imaginarij nedolžnega otroštva, ki ga je porodilo romantično gibanje v Britaniji, dokončno pa so ga zakoreninili politično-ekonomski procesi v drugi polovici 19. stoletja. Prispevek pokaže na notranja logična neskladja te ideologije in zagovarja tezo, da diskurz nedolžnega otroštva ne priznava, da je tudi otrok sam vrsta subjekta, ki je vedno zgodovinsko specifična in kulturno prostorsko umeščena oblika psihološke in telesne modalnosti. Otroka namreč neprestano enači in odvaja v zato posebej pomensko ponastavljeno in ločeno polje narave.
