The concept of the production regime as coined by critical sociologist Michael Burawoy and it actualisation present the cornerstone of the theoretical-historical analysis of journalism's development in the capitalist societies - from the emergence of the hegemonic regime after the Second World War to the transition into hegemonic despotism with the rise of neoliberalism. The article does not only deal with the question of how the changes in the production regime are reflected in the labour process, but also reveals the implications of these ideological and political processes for journalists as labourers, their social status and political relevance, as well as for journalism as social institution which aims to connect citizens with political life and to enable them to participate in it meaningfully"},{"@xml:lang":"sl","#text":"Članek izhaja iz študij sprememb novinarstva kot dela, ki jih spremljajo razprave o njegovi sodobni politični, ekonomski in socialni krizi, in jih s pomočjo teorije delovnega procesa postavlja v zgodovinsko perspektivo. Koncept proizvodnega režima, kot ga je postavil kritični sociolog Michael Burawoy, in njegova aktualizacija predstavljata temelja teoretsko-zgodovinske analize razvoja novinarstva v kapitalističnih družbah - od vzpostavitve hegemonskega režima po drugi svetovni vojni do prehoda v hegemonski despotizem z uveljavitvijo neoliberalizma.
