While hypoxic training was long deemed to be predominantly beneficial for endurance athletes only, recent studies as well as anecdotal evidence indicate that it can also prove advantageous for intermittent and/or team sports athlethes where the repeated sprints (or high intensity efforts) ability is one of the main physiological determinants of performance. The present paper aims to shed some light on the recent developments in the field of altitude/hypoxic training and outline the key practical considerations for the implementation of novel hypoxic modalities into the training process. Based on the up-to-date literature the \"Live high - Train low\" still seems to be the modality of choice for pure endurance athletes. On the other hand, team sports athletes might benefit from the novel hypoxic modalities incorporating repeated sprints training in hypoxia and potentially combining them with the classical \"Live high - Train low\" modality. Holistic approach to both training and hypoxic dose as well as an individualized targeted approach to altitude training however remain the main cornerstones of efficient altitude training implementation"},{"@xml:lang":"sl","#text":"Kljub dejstvu, da je višinski trening kot metoda vadbe v športu uporabljan in priljubljen že več kot pet desetletij, je razvoj novih metod in kombinacij le-teh neprestan.
