The theories I have selected for this undertaking are liberalism, libertarianism and communitarianism. Each one of them is namely permeated by values that can make an important contribution to the regulation of social security and determine the relationship between rights and obligations of the insured individuals and beneficiaries in the social assistance scheme. Those are values of liberty and equality, property, and community membership that can determine the boundaries of solidarityV prispevku preučujem odseve treh politično-filozofskih teorij v pravu socialne varnosti, tj. v domači ureditvi sistema socialnih zavarovanj in socialnega varstva, deloma pa tudi v ureditvi na ravni Evropske unije. Teorije, ki jih izbiram v tej razpravi, so liberalizem, libertarizem in komunitarizem. Vsako izmed njih namreč prevevajo vrednote, ki lahko pomembno sooblikujejo pravno ureditev na področju socialne varnosti in določajo razmerje med pravicami in obveznostmi zavarovancev oziroma zavarovanih oseb v sistemu socialnih zavarovanj ter upravičencev v sistemu socialnega varstva.
