The observation based on a comparative analysis is made from the point of Slovenian strategic position between political cultures of the Balkans and the Western European countries. Due to the fact that the Slovenian territory has been a part of four states in one century, the Slovenia has to prove great ability for adaptation to the new situation in international politics. In order to join the EU and NATO integrations, Slovenia should create and realise the political and cultural possibilities. From the Western standpoint, democratisation of the political culture of Slovenia is only at the beginning. Due to the fact that Slovenians are a small nation, they have an inferiority complex, although they are already overcoming it since the independence. There are some differences between Slovenian and Serbian political culture, considered from the following criteria: national identity and relation to other nationalities and ethnicities, xenophobia and xenophilia, myths and history, rationality and irrationality, diligence and military action, exclusivism and inclusivism, heterogeneity and homogeneity with hegemonism, autocratism and democratization</dc:description><dc:description xml:lang="sl">V prispevku je ocenjena političnokulturna ustreznost Slovenije za članstvo v EU. Če hočemo vstopiti v Evropsko Unijo (EU) in NATO, moramo ustvarjati in realizirati političnokulturne možnosti. Z vidika Zahoda je demokratizacija politične kulture pri nas šele na začetku. Zaradi nacionalne majhnosti imamo manjšinski kompleks, ki se z nastankom nacije države postopno zmanjšuje. Med slovensko in srbsko politično kulturo so ugotovljene nekatere razlike po naslednjih kriterijih: nacionalna identiteta in odnos do drugih nacionalnosti oz. etnij, ksenofobija in ksenofilija, mit in zgodovina, racionalnost in iracionalnost, delo in vojskovanje, ekskluzivizem in inkluzivizem, heterogenost in homogenost s hegemonizmom, avtokratizem ali demokratizacija</dc:description><edm:type>TEXT</edm:type><dc:type xml:lang="sl">znanstveno časopisje</dc:type><dc:type xml:lang="en">journals</dc:type><dc:type rdf:resource="http://www.wikidata.org/entity/Q361785" /></edm:ProvidedCHO><ore:Aggregation rdf:about="http://www.dlib.si/?URN=URN:NBN:SI:doc-YXG8X0DD"><edm:aggregatedCHO rdf:resource="URN:NBN:SI:doc-YXG8X0DD" /><edm:isShownBy rdf:resource="http://www.dlib.si/stream/URN:NBN:SI:doc-YXG8X0DD/c5bf6887-b8c9-4969-9853-cfef2ebcae6b/PDF" /><edm:rights rdf:resource="http://rightsstatements.org/vocab/InC/1.0/" /><edm:provider>Slovenian National E-content Aggregator</edm:provider><edm:dataProvider xml:lang="en">National and University Library of Slovenia</edm:dataProvider><edm:object rdf:resource="http://www.dlib.si/streamdb/URN:NBN:SI:doc-YXG8X0DD/maxi/edm" /><edm:isShownAt rdf:resource="http://www.dlib.si/details/URN:NBN:SI:doc-YXG8X0DD" /></ore:Aggregation></rdf:RDF>
