The so far existing policy of informatisation of election system and election process had to be rethought from various points of view. In the article the author analyses the topic from the political science perspective, starting with the thesis that introduction of the informative-communicative tehchnology into the election system and process is not only technical and legal question but also relates to the questions of the very legitimacy of the election systemJavne polemike o uvajanju elektronskih volitev v Sloveniji so bile sporadične in kampanjske, odprle pa so celo vrsto vprašanj, na katera mora javna oblast najti ustrezne odgovore. Premisliti je bilo treba dosedanjo politiko informatiziranja volilnega sistema in volilnega procesa in jo strokovno osvetliti iz različnih zornih kotov.
