For these reasons, the article appropriates the jazz idiom as a convenient metaphor and discourse to highlight epistemological and methodological challenges entailed in understanding democracy. In the last part, the article indicates deeper and substantial affinities between democracy and jazz that are useful for clarifying the democratic unruliness that is often missing in current discussions on democracy. The article concludes that an entirely new approach to democracy is required, building on a new grammar, metaphors and methods"},{"@xml:lang":"sl","#text":"Članek izhaja iz predpostavke, da so stari kriteriji za analizo stanja in perspektiv demokracije - e.g. suverena država, strankarski pluralizem, volitve, predstavništvo, nacionalna identiteta, tržno gospodarstvo - povsem zastarele kategorije, ki nimajo več stika z aktualno dinamiko demokratičnih inovacij. Avtor uporabi jazzovski idiom kot primerno metaforo in diskurz za osvetlitev epistemoloških in metodoloških izzivov pri razumevanju demokracije. V zadnjem delu članka identificira globlje in močnejše povezave med demokracijo in jazzom, ki so koristne za pojasnitev demokratične nevladljivosti, ki sicer pogosto manjka v aktualnih razpravah o pomenu demokracije.
