Although he formally enrolled at classical philology at the Vienna University (1865-1868), he really never attented any courses and took no examination, as he lived in Great Britain (autumn 1865 - spring 1869), first in Kingston-upon-Hull and later in London. He came back to Vienna in April 1869 and studied at the Viennese Law Faculty (1868-1873), in order to meet the requirements for the post of a national economy teacher at the newly established University of Zagreb. In June 1873, he registered at the new Reichuniversität in Strassburg and was received Doctor of Law in December 1873. Immediately after the viva voce examination, Turner took to Paris to continue his studies, until September 1874, with the then important French economists"},{"@xml:lang":"sl","#text":"Razprava obravnava študijska leta Pavla Turnerja od njegove mature (1865) do konca podoktorskega študija leta 1874. Čeprav je bil med 1865-1868 formalno vpisan na klasično filologijo na dunajski univerzi, predavanj tam ni poslušal in ni opravil niti enega izpita, saj je bil v resnici od jeseni 1865 do pomladi 1869 v Veliki Britaniji, sprva v mestu Kingston-upon-Hull, zatem pa v Londonu. Aprila 1896 se je vrnil na Dunaj in vpisal pravo (1868-1873), da bi se kasneje potegoval za mesto univerzitetnega docenta narodnega gospodarstva na novonastali univerzi v Zagrebu, ka so mu ponudili nekateri vidni Hrvati. Junija 1873 se je imatrikuliral na novi Reichsuniversität v Strassburgu in decembra 1873 doktoriral z inavguralno disertacijo z naslovom \"Eine vergleichende Darstellung des germanischen und slawischen Familienrechtes\" (deloma objavljena kot \"Slawisches Familienrecht\", Strassburg, Trübner, 1874).
