For the purpose of gaining data we used the BodyMedia Core SenseWear energy expenditure meter. The sample included 20 children aged between 2 and 6 years, of which 10 were aged between 2 and 4 years and 10 between 4 and 6 years. The data was processed with the help of the statistics program SPSS; the t- test was used to verify hypotheses. The results have shown that the total and active energy expenditure of preschool children is statistically significantly greater when visual aids were used during exercise compared to exercise without the use of visual aids. Also the number of steps made during exercise with the use of visual aids were (statistically significant) greater than exercise without visual aids. Children aged between 4 and 6 have expended statistically more total energy during exercise with and without visual aids than children aged between 2 and 4. Children aged between 4 and 6 have expended more active energy only during exercise with the use of visual aids, compared to the younger group. But when visual aids were not used during exercise there were no statistically significant differences of active energy expenditure and number of steps made during exercise between the two groups. This research has shown, that the use of visual aids as teaching accessories can increase the expenditure of energy of preschool children during organised sports activities or exercise</dc:description><dc:description xml:lang="sl">Namen raziskave je bil ugotoviti razlike v porabi energije in številu opravljenih korakov pri organizirani športni dejavnosti predšolskih otrok ob uporabi slik kot učnih pripomočkov in brez njih.
