The introductory part discusses the problem ofmodern society brought about by general haste due to which we often forget about our fellowmen and the fact that spoken work is the most noble way to reach other people. Specific characteristics of relationships in medical services, especially the significance of proper communication with patients isdiscussed, whereupon the problem of listening and posing questions is stressed. Some words with positive and negative connotation are listed, along with octagonal language, uncler and complicated mode, of expression in comparison with grammatically and syntactically clear speech. The essence of speech is its uniqueness. When a word is uttered it can not be taken back, what has been said can not be mended. Therefore words should acquire their original value again</dc:description><dc:description xml:lang="sl">Članek obravnava izgovorjeno besedo, z njenim pomenom in vlogo v medosebni komunikaciji. V uvodnem delu je izpostavljen problem sodobne družbe, ki v vsesplošnem hitenju pozablja na sočloveka, pri tem pa se ne zaveda, da je govor najplemenitejše sredstvo in pot do ljudi. V nadaljevanju prispevek obravnava posebnost odnosov v zdravstvu, kjer se vse prevečkrat postavlja vprašanje, na kakšnen način spregovori z bolnikom. Pri tem se najprej pojavi problem poslušanja in spraševanja. Nato so opisani primeri besed, ki lahko spodbujajo pozitivne ali negativne predstave. Prikazan je oktagonalni jezik, nejasno in zapleteno izražanje, v nasprotju z gramatično in sintaktično brezhibnostjo ter jasnostjo. Bistvo govora je prav v enkartnosti. Ko besedo enkrat izrežemo, je ne moremo več vzeti nazaj, četudi želimo izgovorjeno popraviti.
