Evaluation and measurement of pain is an important part of the work of a nurse treating a patient with pains. A nurse monitors patients condition all the time, communicates with him/her and gives psychological support. The article presents the results of aresearch work on acute postoperative pain, its evaluation and measurement. Aninquiry was carried out on expectations and experience related to treatment of pain. Pain was monitored, evaluated and measured for three days after surgery"},{"@xml:lang":"sl","#text":"Akutna pooperativna bolečina je še vedno področje, ki mu posvečamo premalo pozornosti ter je zato njeno zdravljenje pogosto nezadostno. Subjektivna narava bolečine otežuje njeno ocenjevanje, vendar je za učinkovito zdravljenjemerjenje bolečine nujno potrebno. Danes ocenjevanju in merjenju bolečine posvečamo večjo pozornost in metode merjenja uvajamo v vsakodnevno klinično prakso. Ocenjevanje in merjenje bolečine je zelo pomemben del nalog medicinske sestre, ki obravnava bolnika z bolečinami, saj ona nepretrgoma spremlja njegovo stanje, stalno z njim komunicira in mu je v psihično oporo. Članek predstavlja rezultate raziskave, ki je obravnavala akutno pooperativno bolečino, njeno ocenjevanje in merjenje. Anketirala sem bolnike o njihovem pričakovanju poperativnee bolečine in njihovih izkušnjah z njenim zdravljenjem.
