My view is that too little attention is paid to this distinction, when it should be one of the key criteria in the editing of paremiological material and in paremiological corpus research. I present how this distinction can be applied when arranging paremiological material from contemporary and historical sources with the help of corpus analysis and some additional sources (results of a paremiological survey for example). I give examples of addition and extension, determine their representation in collections and corpus resources and confirm their classification with examples of use"},{"@xml:lang":"sl","#text":"Namen članka je predstaviti pomensko razlikovanje med razširitvijo in dopolnitvijo pri podaljšavi pregovora, ki ga je predlagal Permjakov. Temu razlikovanju je po naši oceni posvečeno premalo pozornosti in bi moralo predstavljati eno izmed ključnih meril pri urejanju paremiološkega gradiva in v korpusnih paremioloških raziskavah. V prispevku prikazujemo, kako se s korpusno analizo in nekaterimi dodatnimi (npr. anketnimi) viri lotevamo tega razlikovanja pri paremiološkem gradivu iz sodobnih in historičnih virov.
