Scanning distance and scanning angle of impact laser beam was found to be the most crucial interaction between the surface topology and scanning process. Therefore, we focused these two parameters while other parameters like microstructure, colour of surface, optical settings remained fixed. Despite of random nature of freeform surfaces, the measurements were systematic, according to the principles of thedesign of experiment (DOE) adjusting angle and distance in the whole scanning range. Based on the results of this research and prior estimation of surface complexity, an implication or working area range prediction, as well as the determination of optimal set of influence parameters inside this particular working area can be done</dc:description><dc:description xml:lang="sl">V tem članku je predstavljen vpliv topologije površine na natančnost meritev z laserskim triangulacijskim merilnikom oblike površin. Izkazalo se je, da sodita med najpomembnejše dejavnike, ki vplivajo na rezultate meritev razdalja med senzorjem in površino ter vpadni kot laserskega žarka. Zato smo se v raziskavi osredotočili predvsem na ta dva parametra, med tem ko smo poskrbeli da so ostali dejavniki, kot so miktrostruktura, barva površine, ter optične nastavitve merilnika bili vseskozi nadzorovani in konstantni. Kljub naključni naravi prosti površin, so bile meritve sistematizirane po principih Design of experiment DOE, pri čemer kot in razdalja variirata po celotnem njunem merilnem območju.
