Nato je podrobneje prikazana shema psihološke zdravstvene oskrbe, ki vsebuje naslednje elemente: ocenjevanje psihološkega stanja in psiholoških potreb bolnika, informacijsko-edukativni del zdravstvene nege, emocionalni suport, svetovanje, izvajanje izbranih postopkov vedenjsko kognitivne terapije pod supervizijo kliničnega zdravstvenega psihologa, zastopanje bolnikovih psiholoških potreb (zagovorništvo) in samopomoč.
