Cirila in Metoda med slovenskimi izseljenci v 19. in 20. stoletju|</dc:title><dc:description xml:lang="sl">The article examines examples of Slovenian emigrant communities in the USA, Egypt, Argentina, and Australia, highlighting the presence and significance of the veneration of Saints Cyril and Methodius among emigrants. The selected cases cover different periods of Slovenian emigration: from the late 19th century to the First World War, the in terwar period, and the decades following the Second World War. In each period, emigrants developed distinct forms of venerating the holy brothers, shaped significantly by the political and social circumstances in their homeland. This is particularly evident in their turn to the saints in the face of foreign national pressures before the First World War and among part of the emigrant population during the interwar years. After the Second World War, the veneration of Cyril and Methodius became associated primarily with opposition to communist ideology. Overall, the veneration of the two saints—after whom emigrants in various periods often named institutions of Slovenian emigrant life—motivated Slovenians abroad to strengthen their national and religious identity, social engagement, educational activities, and ecumenical apostolate</dc:description><dc:description xml:lang="sl">Prispevek ob primerih slovenskih izseljenskih sku pnosti v ZDA, Egiptu, Argentini in Avstraliji predstavi navzočnost in pomen češčenja svetih bratov Cirila in Metoda med izseljenci. Izbrani primeri obsegajo različna obdobja slovenskega izseljenstva: od izteka 19. stoletja do prve svetovne vojne, čas med obema vojnama in obdobje po drugi svetovni vojni. V posameznih obdobjih so med izseljenci veljale posebnosti v naravi češčenja svetih bratov in so nanje bistveno vplivale politične in družbene razmere v matični domovini. Na splošno je češčenje Cirila in Metoda, po katerih so izseljenci v različnih obdobjih pogosto poimenovali ustanove slovenskega izseljenskega življenja, Slovence v tujini motiviralo k utrjevanju narodne in verske pripadnosti, socialnim dejavnostim, izobrazbi in ekumenskemu apostolatu</dc:description><edm:type>TEXT</edm:type><dc:type xml:lang="sl">znanstveno časopisje</dc:type><dc:type xml:lang="en">journals</dc:type><dc:type rdf:resource="http://www.wikidata.org/entity/Q361785" /></edm:ProvidedCHO><ore:Aggregation rdf:about="http://www.dlib.si/?URN=URN:NBN:SI:doc-XRDWBTMZ"><edm:aggregatedCHO rdf:resource="URN:NBN:SI:doc-XRDWBTMZ" /><edm:isShownBy rdf:resource="http://www.dlib.si/stream/URN:NBN:SI:doc-XRDWBTMZ/e6da332a-7f83-4d58-af47-93d820492627/PDF" /><edm:rights rdf:resource="http://creativecommons.org/licenses/by/4.0/" /><edm:provider>Slovenian National E-content Aggregator</edm:provider><edm:intermediateProvider xml:lang="en">National and University Library of Slovenia</edm:intermediateProvider><edm:dataProvider xml:lang="sl">Katoliški inštitut, Fakulteta za pravo in poslovne vede</edm:dataProvider><edm:object rdf:resource="http://www.dlib.si/streamdb/URN:NBN:SI:doc-XRDWBTMZ/maxi/edm" /><edm:isShownAt rdf:resource="http://www.dlib.si/details/URN:NBN:SI:doc-XRDWBTMZ" /></ore:Aggregation></rdf:RDF>
