Adults and children with severe speech and language disorders are referred to speech and language therapy. The therapy aims at improving communication skills and achieving the highest possible independence in social interactions. Many persons have co-morbid cognitive disorders, severe disabilities of motor functions and visual perception, which affect their access to symbols and assistive devices. The use of augmentative and alternative communication thus requires precise assessment of a persons abilities done by different professionals. The speech and language therapist then selects among assistive technology, suggests necessary adaptations and trains the person in the use of a communication device</dc:description><dc:description xml:lang="sl">Pogosta posledica bolezni ali poškodbe osrednjega živčevja pri odraslih ali otrocih je govorno-jezikovna motnja. Odrasle in otroke s težko govorno-jezikovno motnjo napotijo k logopedu. Logoped nato izbere in prilagaja tehnični pripomoček ter posameznika usposobi za uporabo komunikacijskega pripomočka</dc:description><edm:type>TEXT</edm:type><dc:type xml:lang="sl">znanstveno časopisje</dc:type><dc:type xml:lang="en">journals</dc:type><dc:type rdf:resource="http://www.wikidata.org/entity/Q361785" /></edm:ProvidedCHO><ore:Aggregation rdf:about="http://www.dlib.si/?URN=URN:NBN:SI:doc-XFMXVFEY"><edm:aggregatedCHO rdf:resource="URN:NBN:SI:doc-XFMXVFEY" /><edm:isShownBy rdf:resource="http://www.dlib.si/stream/URN:NBN:SI:doc-XFMXVFEY/cd9a671a-7d12-4bb4-ac70-a30d24ddb49c/PDF" /><edm:rights rdf:resource="http://rightsstatements.org/vocab/InC/1.0/" /><edm:provider>Slovenian National E-content Aggregator</edm:provider><edm:intermediateProvider xml:lang="en">National and University Library of Slovenia</edm:intermediateProvider><edm:dataProvider xml:lang="sl">Univerzitetni rehabilitacijski inštitut RS – Soča</edm:dataProvider><edm:object rdf:resource="http://www.dlib.si/streamdb/URN:NBN:SI:doc-XFMXVFEY/maxi/edm" /><edm:isShownAt rdf:resource="http://www.dlib.si/details/URN:NBN:SI:doc-XFMXVFEY" /></ore:Aggregation></rdf:RDF>
