Due to a lack of data of status and trends of their populations there is a great need to develop an efficient and reliable monitoring scheme of bee populations. In our study, three differently coloured pan traps and two differently coloured vane traps were tested at two locations in central Slovenia from May to September 2018. In 10 two-day samplings at both locations 162 bumblebees and 236 other wild bees were caught. Bumblebees were almost exclusively caught in the blue vane trap (91%), while other wild bees were caught in all types of traps, mostly in the blue vane trap (31%) and the yellow pan trap (30%).
