The neutron decay time of about 15 minutes has been the subject of many studies since the fifties. It is determined in two main experimental ways: by the beam method and the bottle method. Experimental methods give results that differ by ?$\Delta \tau_n = 8.6$? s</dc:description><dc:description xml:lang="sl">Prosti razpad nevtrona je osnovni primer jedrskega razpada ?$\beta^-$? po Standardnem modelu osnovnih delcev. Razpadni čas nevtrona znaša približno 15 minut in je polemika številnih raziskav v zadnjih sedemdesetih letih. Določajo ga na dva glavna eksperimentalna načina: z žarkovno metodo in metodo steklenice.
