Many researchers are actively developing formulations that adhere to the oral mucosa and release the active ingredient. This method of administration can reduce the time it takes for the drug to take effect. With buccal administration, we can avoid firstpass metabolism due to the immediate absorption of the drug into the systemic circulation. This is interesting from the point of view of increasing the bioavailability of active ingredients. Despite the many advantages of these dosage forms, we have not yet seen a major breakthrough in the market as only about ten drugs are currently available in the form of buccal films. In this article, we present buccal films and excipients as well as technological methods for their production"},{"@xml:lang":"sl","#text":"Zamisel o absorpciji zdravilnih učinkovin skozi bukalno sluznico je bila predstavljena že pred desetletji. Številni raziskovalci aktivno razvijajo formulacije, ki se oprimejo ustne sluznice in sprostijo zdravilno učinkovino. S takšnim načinom dostave lahko skrajšamo čas do nastopa učinka zdravila. Z bukalno aplikacijo se lahko izognemo metabolizmu prvega prehoda preko takojšnje absorpcije zdravilne učinkovine v sistemski krvni obtok. To je zanimivo s stališča povečanja biološke uporabnosti zdravilnih učinkovin. Kljub številnim prednostim teh farmacevtskih oblik večjega preboja na trgu še nismo zaznali, saj je trenutno na voljo le približno deset zdravil v obliki bukalnih filmov.
