The purpose of the paper was to determine the intensity of the waveriding. We analyzed waveriding on the example of a 44 year-old recreational waverider. Data were collected in 25 sessions of waveriding. The variables were: wind speed (22-30 + knots), wave height (1.5- 4.5 meters), duration (at least 45 minutes), length of session (minimum 20 km) and average heart rate (at least 125 bpr). We found out that the waveriding depends heavily on the current conditions of the wind, the waves and the choice of the right sail size. Based on the findings, we concluded that the waveriding is on average 10-15% of the session moderate intensity (106-123 bpr); 60-70% in the medium intensity (124-141 bpr) and 10-20% of the time in intensive intensity (142-158 bpr). Due to these findings, it is recommended that the special condition preparation for waveriders contain strenghts workouts for the most active muscle groups (arms, shoulders, core and legs), which the waverider should perform at different intervals of medium and high intensity"},{"@xml:lang":"sl","#text":"Jadranje na deski na valovih je kompleksen šport, ki zahteva dobro kondicijo, opremo, ustrezno znanje tehnike ter sposobnost pravilno oceniti vetrovne pogoje in nastajanje valov. Namen prispevka je bil ugotoviti intenzivnost napora pri jadranju na deski na valovih, zato smo analizirali obremenitve pri jadranju na deski na valovih na primeru 44-letnega rekreativnega jadralca. Podatke smo zbrali na 25 meritvah in določili naslednje spremenljivke: hitrost vetra (22-30+ vozlov), višina valov (1,5-4,5 metra), čas trajanja (najmanj 45 minut) in značilnost jadralne seanse (najmanj 20 km) ter povprečni srčni utrip (najmanj 125 udarcev na minuto). Ocenjujemo, da je intenzivnost napora pri jadranju na deski na valovih (poleg kondicije in dnevne forme) močno odvisna od trenutnih pogojev vetra in valov ter izbire ustrezne velikosti jadra. Na podlagi ugotovitev sklepamo, da je jadralec povprečno 10-15 % časa jadranja na deski v mejah zmernega napora (106-123 ud/min); 60-70 % časa v mejah srednje intenzivnega napora (124-141 ud/min) in 10-20 % časa v mejah intenzivnega napora (142-158 ud/min).
