Every second journal was founded after 1990, and about 60% of them belong to social sciences and humanities. Their publishers are Slovenian institutions and the journals are diamond journals: only 7.7% of journals are affiliated with major global publishers and only 3.7% use APC (Article Processing Charge). The vast majority (about 90%) of journals claim that they publish their content in open access. More than half of the journals on domestic websites or in national repositories dLib (Digital Library of Slovenia) and DiRROS (Digital Repository of Research Organizations of Slovenia) have free access to a complete archive. Half of them use Creative Commons licenses, about the same number of them (mostly the same journals) also use DOI (Digital Object Identifier), one third of journals use OJS (Open Journal System) and a handful (4.1%) also publish in one of the XML formats. Most journals started publishing in Slovenian, but today articles in almost three quarters of the journals can also be published in English. Technically, they are still below the world average, which is at least partly due to two systemic anomalies: stable and well-organized funding of the domestic scientific press has stagnated for several years and the Slovenian science evaluation system encourages publication in foreign journals"},{"@xml:lang":"sl","#text":"Na osnovi (1) seznamov slovenskih znanstvenih revij v mednarodnih bazah, ki jih uporabljajo za vrednotenje objav slovenskih raziskovalcev, (2) rednih državnih razpisov za podporo znanstvenih revij in (3) podrobnejšega pregleda za ta sistem najpomembnejših mednarodnih bibliografskih baz (SNIP, JCR, SJR) lahko ugotovimo, da je v letu 2021 izhajalo 219 slovenskih revij z znanstvenimi članki. Vsaka druga revija je nastala po letu 1990, okoli 60 % jih spada med družboslovno-humanistične revije. Njihovi založniki so domače ustanove in revije veljajo za diamantne: z velikimi svetovnimi založniki je povezanih le 7,7 % revij in le 3,7 % jih uporablja sistem APC (Article Processing Charge). Velika večina (okoli 90 %) revij trdi, da vsebino objavljajo v odprtem dostopu. Na domačih spletnih straneh ali v nacionalnih repozitorijih dLib (Digitalna knjižnica Slovenije) in DiRROS (Digitalni repozitorij raziskovalnih organizacij Slovenije) ima več kot polovica revij celoten arhiv v prostem dostopu. Polovica jih uporablja licence Creative Commons, približno toliko (večinoma istih revij) tudi DOI (Digital Object Identifier), tretjina program OJS (Open Journal System), peščica (4,1%) pa objavlja tudi v katerem od XML-formatov. Večinski jezik prvega letnika slovenskih znanstvenih revij je bila slovenščina, a danes članek v angleščini avtorji lahko objavijo že v skoraj treh četrtinah revij.
