Three prevailing interpretations of international relations in the Mediterranean region are shown, namely the definition of the Med as an eu foreign policy object, as an inter-regional space based on diverse sub-regions and as an area of autonomous regionalisation process. Furthermore, scientific approaches analysing the three aspects are presented.
