Its goal is to ensure a systematic expert consideration of the structure and functioning of the Slovenian education system as well as finding solutions that will ensure the high-quality of the education system in the future. It is an important time to incorporate physical education more appropriately into the education system. In the period since the last reform of the school system, the lifestyle of children and their parents has radically changed and, consequently, also the importance of physical education in the acquiring of quality knowledge, development of personality and active involvement in society. More recent international political documents have already been warning about the special role of physical education that should also be incorporated into the national education strategy. To contribute to the discussion on the White Paper, we as sports professionals therefore present some expert propositions on how to appropriately incorporate physical education into the education system, which are underpinned by international and Slovenian scientific findings about the benefits of physical education and other school sports activities"},{"@xml:lang":"sl","#text":"Pristojno ministrstvo je odprlo javno razpravo o Beli knjigi o vzgoji in izobraževanju v Republiki Sloveniji. Gre za sistematičen strokovni premislek o strukturi in delovanju slovenskega vzgojno-izobraževalnega sistema ter iskanje rešitev, ki bodo v prihodnje zagotavljale njegovo kakovostno delovanje. To je pomemben čas za ustreznejše umeščanje športne vzgoje v vzgojno-izobraževalni sistem. V obdobju od zadnje reforme šolstva se je namreč korenito spremenil življenjski slog otrok in staršev, posledično pa tudi pomen športne vzgoje pri osvajanju kakovostnega znanja, osebnostnem oblikovanju in dejavnem vključevanju v družbo. V novejših mednarodnih političnih dokumentih zato opozarjajo na posebno vlogo športne vzgoje, ki bi jo morali udejanjiti tudi v nacionalni strategiji vzgoje in izobraževanja.
