Based on medical,popular, philosophical, prose and memorial literature, the influence of Christoph Wilhelm Hufeland as a typical representativeof pre-modern medical thought and his instructions for a healthyand happy old age, which permeated society in the 19th century,is examined. It also shows how Hufeland’s ideas were perceivedby Slovenian authors and the leading European intellectuals ofthe time, especially Immanuel Kant and Giacomo Leopardi"},{"@xml:lang":"sl","#text":"V članku obravnavam spremenjen odnos do starostiin staranja v 19. stoletju, ko je prišlo do prehoda od usmerjenosti v onostranstvo k usmerjenosti v zemeljsko življenje ter izogibanje trpljenju. Na podlagi obravnavanih medicinskih, poljudnoznanstvenih, filozofskih in proznih del ter dnevniških zapisovprikazujem vpliv Christopha Wilhelma Hufelanda kot tipičnegapredstavnika predmoderne medicinske misli ter njegovih navodil za zdravo in srečno starost, ki so v 19. stoletju preplavilidružbo.
