It is a presentation of digital data gathered and updated by the Surveying and Mapping Authority of the Republic of Slovenia, including the structure, organization, quality and accuracy of this data. The focus is a description of the GKB 25 Generalised Cartographic Database, which was created by gathering data on individual themes from the 1:25000 scale analogue topographical maps of the whole of the Republic of Slovenia. It was foreseen that the database would have two particular areas of use; in cartography and in spatial analyses in GIS. The goal of this paper is to introduce the reader to this database and its utility on the state and local level"},{"@xml:lang":"sl","#text":"V članku obravnavam pregled opravljenega dela na področju prostorskih podatkov v digitalni obliki. Predstavljeni so digitalni podatki, ki jih vodi in vzdržuje državna geodetska služba, njihova informacijska vrednost, metrična kakovost in topološka struktura. Opisana je generalizirana kartografska baza (GKB 25), ki je nastala z zajemom posameznih vsebin iz analognih nomenklaturnih topografskih kart merila 1:25000 in pokriva celotno območje Republike Slovenije. Predvidena je bila uporabnost na dveh področjih, in sicer za potrebe kartografije in za potrebe prostorske analize v geografskem informacijskem sistemu.
