Magnetic reso- nance (MR) is a non-invasive method suitable to determine the gel layer properties by using MR that can provide the information about the gel's properties. MR imaging (MRI) that enables in situ determination of tablet swelling and can provide the polymer concentration profile during swelling; Combination of MRI and USP-4 aparatus enables in situ determination of tablet swelling and drug release kinetics or by using special MRI techniques enabling the determination of distribution of the polymer and the drug in the tablet at the same time. The combination of the data obtained by MR techniques, mathematical model, and other analytical methods makes the polymer matrix ta- blets design more successful</dc:description><dc:description xml:lang="sl">Mehanizem sproščanje zdravilne učinkovine iz po- limernih ogrodnih tablet je kompleksen proces, na katerega močno vpliva gelska plast, ki nastane na površini tablete. Za proučevanje lastnosti te plasti so zelo primerne magnetnoresonančne (MR) metode, saj lahko z MR dobimo informacije o last- nostih gelov; z MR-slikanjem in situ opazujemo dinamiko nastajanja gelske plasti in erodirajoče fronte ter določimo koncentracijski profil polimera med nabrekanjem. Kombinacija MR-slikanja in USP-4 naprave omogoča sočasno in situ določi- tev kinetike nabrekanja in sproščanja zdravilne učinkovine iz hidrofilnih ogrodnih tablet, z uporabo posebne MR-tehnike pa lahko hkrati določimo prostorsko porazdelitev polimera in učinkovine v tableti.
