In the first part of the article, the social circumstances and the reasons to explore the link between empathy and social work education are presented. The reasons are divided in heuristic, elitist, motivational, educational and stratification-based. We're interested in the importance of empathy in the context of existing social policy. How will the planned changes in the organization of higher education (increased selection with the introduction of entrance examinations) affect one of the main criteria for selection - empathy? Since the key motivation for studying social work is helping others, high levels of empathy are expected among students. We are also interested in how the curriculum is linked to empathy and if empathy is evenly distributed among the students having diverse socio-economic status. Quantitative survey, which was conducted with a population of students from the 1st and the 4th year at the Faculty of Social Work (University of Ljubljana) in the academic year 2015/16, showed that students have a relatively high degree of empathy in the first year and that the rate does not reflect statistically important change during the years of study. However, the degree of empathy is associated with self-assessment of social status. The high degree of empathy score occurs when a student is from higher social stratum. Social work students have enough empathy but, in connection with empathy, only social inequality is problematic"},{"@xml:lang":"sl","#text":"Empatija je koncept, ki je kompleksen tako z vidika definicije kot z vidika razlogov za raziskovanje. V prvem delu članka prikazujemo družbene okoliščine in razloge za raziskovanje povezave med empatijo in izobraževanjem za socialno delo. Razdelimo jih v hevristične, elitistične, motivacijske, edukacijske in stratifikacijske. Sprašujemo se, kašen je pomen empatije v okviru obstoječe socialne politike. Kako bodo predvidene novosti v organizaciji visokošolskega študija (večja selekcija z uvajanjem sprejemnih izpitov) vplivale na eno od morebitnih temeljnih meril za selekcijo - empatijo? Ker je ključna motivacija za študij socialnega dela pomoč drugim, je pričakovati visoke stopnje empatije med študenti. Zanima nas tudi, kako je kurikulum povezan z empatijo in ali je empatija enakomerno porazdeljena med študenti, ki imajo različen družbeno-ekonomski status. Kvantitativna raziskava, ki smo jo izvedli s populacijo študentk 1. in 4. letnika Fakultete za socialno delo v študijskem letu 2015/16, je pokazala, da imajo študentke razmeroma visoko stopnjo empatije že v prvem letniku in da se ta stopnja med študijem statistično značilno ne spremeni. Je pa stopnja empatije povezana s samooceno socialnega statusa. Visoka ocena stopnje empatije se pojavlja pri študentkah z višjim statusom. Empatije imamo v socialnem delu dovolj, v zvezi z njo so problematične le družbene neenakosti"}],"edm:type":"TEXT","dc:type":[{"@xml:lang":"sl","#text":"znanstveno časopisje"},{"@xml:lang":"en","#text":"journals"},{"@rdf:resource":"http://www.wikidata.org/entity/Q361785"}]},"ore:Aggregation":{"@rdf:about":"http://www.dlib.si/?URN=URN:NBN:SI:doc-VLOIVQJT","edm:aggregatedCHO":{"@rdf:resource":"URN:NBN:SI:doc-VLOIVQJT"},"edm:isShownBy":{"@rdf:resource":"http://www.dlib.si/stream/URN:NBN:SI:doc-VLOIVQJT/aaa02104-ab72-45ce-b408-04c707e2a8a1/PDF"},"edm:rights":{"@rdf:resource":"http://rightsstatements.org/vocab/InC/1.0/"},"edm:provider":"Slovenian National E-content Aggregator","edm:intermediateProvider":{"@xml:lang":"en","#text":"National and University Library of Slovenia"},"edm:dataProvider":{"@xml:lang":"sl","#text":"Univerza v Ljubljani, Fakulteta za socialno delo"},"edm:object":{"@rdf:resource":"http://www.dlib.si/streamdb/URN:NBN:SI:doc-VLOIVQJT/maxi/edm"},"edm:isShownAt":{"@rdf:resource":"http://www.dlib.si/details/URN:NBN:SI:doc-VLOIVQJT"}}}}
