Stabilization was achieved by changing the pH of the suspension and by the addition of a dispersing agent. In the pH region between 7,6 and 11,5, dissolution of ZnO and a decrease of preset pH take place because of the shifting of different zinc species equilibrium. An ammonium salt of plyacrylic acid was used as a dispersing agent for electrosteric stabilization. Admixture of the dispersant decreases the viscosity of the system and increases the zeta potential. Additions of the dispersant allow us to prepare a suspension with 50 vol. % of the oxide. An adsorption isotherm for the ZnO-ammonium polyacrylate system was determined. The optimum concentration of the polyelectrolyte for a stable suspension was 0,2 wt. %</dc:description><dc:description xml:lang="sl">Namen dela je bila elektrostatska stabilizacija vodne suspenzije ZnO, kar je mogoče doseči s spreminjanjem pH-vrednosti suspenzije ter z dodatkom dispergenta. Uravnavanje pH suspenzije v območju od 7,6 do 11,5 povzroči raztapljanje prahu ZnO in zniževanje nastavljenega pH zaradi vzpostavljanja ravnotežja med različnimi zvrstmi cinkovih ionov. Za elektrostatično stabilizacijo kovinskega oksida smo uporabili amonijevo sol poliakrilne kisline. Dodatek dispergenta povzroči znižanje viskoznosti sistema in povečanje zeta-potenciala delcev. Ob dodatku dispergenta lahko pripravimo suspenzijo s 50 vol. % oksida. Določili smo adsorpcijsko izotermo sistema ZnO-amonijev poliakrilat.
