Because excessive resistance can disrupt sprinting technique, determining the optimal load is crucial for training effectiveness. To investigate the optimal level of resistance for sleds we examined the impact of sled resistance and sprint phases on spatiotemporal variables of steps by conducting a systematic literature review with meta-analysis. Study selection and data extraction were conducted according to the PRISMA protocol in the PubMed database up to and including October 2022. Based on six included studies, we calculated absolute and standardized mean differences in contact time, step length, and flight time of sprint steps between: (a) sprints without resistance, sprints with low load, and sprints with moderate load in the acceleration sprint phase; (b) early acceleration phase (ZP), late acceleration phase (PP), and maximum speed phase (NH) at each sled resistance; and (c) ZP of sprint without resistance, PP or NH of sprint with low load, and PP or NH of sprint with moderate load. Spatiotemporal characteristics of sprint steps change with the addition of resistance on sleds and with increasing sprint speed. However, step characteristics of unresisted sprint in the ZP phase can be replicated in later phases of the sprint with moderate sled loads. Therefore, when the goal of training is to mechanically overload the neuromuscular system while maintaining technical stability of sprint, it is advisable to use moderate loads</dc:description><dc:description xml:lang="sl">Sprinti s sanmi so oblika situacijske vadbe proti uporu, ki se uporablja za izboljšanje sposobnosti hitrega pospeševanja in hitrosti pri sprintu. Ker lahko prevelik upor poruši sprintersko tehniko, je optimizacija bremena na saneh ključna. Da bi proučili, kolikšna velikost bremena na saneh je za vadbo najbolj optimalna, smo opravili sistematični pregled literature z metaanalizo. Izbor študij in ekstrakcijo podatkov smo izvedli po protokolu PRISMA v podatkovni bazi PubMed. Proučili smo vpliv bremena in faze sprinta na časovno-prostorske spremenljivke sprinterskega koraka. Iz podatkov šestih vključenih študij smo z metodo obratne variance in modelom naključnih učinkov izračunali absolutne in standardizirane povprečne razlike v času stika s podlago, dolžini koraka in času leta sprinterskega koraka med: (a) sprinti brez upora, sprinti z majhnim bremenom in sprinti z zmernim bremenom v fazi pospeševanja; (b) fazo zgodnjega pospeševanja (ZP), fazo poznega pospeševanja (PP) in fazo največje hitrosti (NH) pri različnih bremenih na saneh; (c) ZP pri sprintu brez upora, PP oziroma NH pri sprintu z majhnim bremenom in PP oziroma NH pri sprintu z zmernim bremenom. Časovno-prostorske značilnosti sprinterskega koraka se spremenijo z dodajanjem bremena na sani ter tudi s prehodom iz začetnih v poznejše faze sprinta oziroma s povečevanjem hitrosti sprinta. Značilnosti koraka v fazi ZP pri sprintu brez upora je mogoče replicirati v poznejših fazah sprinta z uporabo zmernih bremen na saneh.
