In the EU there is no prescribed tool for quality development in public administrations, but the European Commission recommends self-assessment and external benchmarks as well as improvements according to the CAF model. The article is based on research about the situation and the perspectives of quality management in selected EU member states (Austria, Belgium, Denmark and Italy).
