Foot orthoses are important adjunct conservative therapy. The purpose of our study was to assess the rheumatoid arthritis patients' treatment in the outpatient foot orthotics office at our Institute. In particular, we wanted to assess whether their number has decreased due to new treatment methods. Methods: Medical documentation of rheumatoid arthritis patients treated at our outpatient foot orthotics office from January 2009 to June 2017 was examined. The number of different categories of prescribed foot orthoses was tabulated. Control charts were used for analysis of the number of patients' visits in 6-months and 12-months intervals. Results: Three hundred nineteen rheumatoid arthritis patients were examined in the observed period; 146 patients were examined for the first time, 173 were readmitted. Ninety per cent were women, 10 % were men; their average age was 67 years. The number of patients at 6-month as well as 12-month level varied, but no systematic changes were observed over time. Orthopaedic shoes were prescribed to almost all patients, 2/3 received shoes with individually shaped foot orthoses. Conclusion: Despite new treatment methods, the outpatient clinic for foot orthotics at our Institute maintains its significance for comprehensive treatment of rheumatoid arthritis patients"},{"@xml:lang":"sl","#text":"Izhodišča: Revmatoidni artritis lahko povzroči hude okvare stopal in posledične težave pri hoji. Ortoze za stopalo predstavljajo pomembno dopolnilno konservativno metodo zdravljenja. Namen naše raziskave je bil oceniti stanje na področju obravnave bolnikov z revmatoidnim artritisom v ambulanti za obutveno ortotiko URI % Soča, zlasti glede vprašanja, ali se je število bolnikov zaradi novih načinov zdravljenja v zadnjih letih zmanjšalo. Metode: Pregledali smo razpoložljivo medicinsko dokumentacijo (izvide ambulantnih pregledov) bolnikov z revmatoidnim artritisom, ki so bili obravnavani v ambulanti za obutveno ortotiko URI-Soča v obdobju od januarja 2009 do junija 2017. Popisali smo število predpisanih ortopedskih čevljev različnih kategorij. Uporabili smo osnovne statistične metode, za analizo časovnega trenda števila bolnikov v letnih in polletnih obdobjih pa tudi kontrolne karte. Rezultati: V opazovanem obdobju smo v ambulanti za obutveno ortotiko opravili 319 pregledov bolnikov z revmatoidnim artritisom; 146 bolnikov je v ambulanto prišlo prvič, 173 pa ponovno. Približno 90 % je bilo žensk in 10 % moških, povprečna starost bolnikov je bila 67 let. Število napotitev bolnikov v našo ambulanto za obutveno ortotiko na polletni in letni ravni je sicer nihalo, vendar se z leti ni sistematično spreminjalo. Praktično vsem bolnikom smo ob pregledu predpisali ortopedsko obutev, od tega dvema tretjinama ortopedske čevlje po mavčevem odlitku.
