Malnutrition can be aggravated while in hospital. Malnourishment decreases mental and physical functioning, increases the number and severity of complications, decelerates recovery and prolongs the length of stay. Patients who would benefit clinically from nutritional interventions can be detected with a screening tool. Nutritional risk screening 2002 (NRS-2002) system is widely used in the hospital setting. The aim of our study was to assess the extent of the problem of nutritional risk in our rehabilitation clinic. Methods: All patients admitted to three departments of the University Rehabilitation Institute in Ljubljana in a three-month period in 2011 were assessed with NRS-2002. Results: 141 patients, 75 men and 66 women (mean age 55.8 years, SD 18.2 years), were assessed. Seventy-two (51 %) were admitted from home, 68 (48 %) directly from a hospital; 35,5 % scored 3 or more in the final part of NRS-2002 and were nutritionally at risk and in need of a nutritional care plan. There was statistically significantly higher nutritional risk if the patient was admitted from a hospital (54 % vs. 18 % if admitted from home). Conclusions: Nutritional risk in patients admitted to our rehabilitation clinic is a problem of large extent as one third of patients need an individually tailored nutritional care plan, thus suggesting also the need of forming a clinical nutrition team"},{"@xml:lang":"sl","#text":"Izhodišča: Vse več bolnikov, ki jih sprejmejo v bolnišnico, je podhranjenih. V času bolnikovega bivanja v bolnišnici se podhranjenost lahko še poslabša. Podhranjenost zmanjša duševne in telesne sposobnosti funkcioniranja bolnikov, poveča število in resnost zapletov, upočasni okrevanje in podaljša ležalno dobo. Bolnike, ki bi potrebovali bolj ustrezno prehrano, lahko aktivno poiščemo s presejalnim orodjem. Lestvico za presejanje bolnikov, ki so prehransko ogroženi (Nutritional Risk Screening 2002 - NRS-2002), uporabljajo v bolnišničnem okolju, vendar je podatkov o tej problematiki pri bolnikih, ki so vključeni v programe rehabilitacije, malo. V raziskavi smo želeli ugotoviti, kako pomembna je problematika prehranske ogroženosti pri bolnikih, ki smo jih sprejeli v Univerzitetni rehabilitacijski inštitut Republike Slovenije - Soča (URI - Soča). Metode: Vse bolnike, ki smo jih v obdobju treh mesecev v letu 2011 sprejeli na tri različne oddelke URI - Soča, smo ob sprejemu ocenili s presejalno lestvico za prehransko ogroženost NRS-2002. Rezultati: Ocenili smo 141 pacientov (75 moških, 66 žensk, starih povprečno 55,8 let, SD 18,2 let). Dvainsedemdeset (51 %) smo jih sprejeli od doma, 68 (48 %) pa neposredno iz druge bolnišnice; 35,5 % jih je v končnem delu lestvice prejelo oceno 3 ali več, kar pomeni, da so bili tako prehransko ogroženi, da bi potrebovali prehranski načrt. Ugotovili smo, da so bili statistično značilno bolj prehransko ogroženi bolniki, ki smo jih sprejeli iz druge bolnišnice, kot tisti, ki smo jih sprejeli od doma (54 % proti 18 %). Zaključek: Prehranska ogroženost bolnikov, sprejetih v URI - Soča, je velika, saj je tretjina bolnikov potrebovala individualno prilagojen prehranski načrt.
