Using the average amount of R&D spending (in % GDP), Slovenia falls below average performance. In countries with efficient R&D spending, better institutional support for research and development and innovation activities (e.g., for the degree of protection of intellectual property, human resources employment share in natural sciences and engineering, relative high-specialization of the economy, coordination of policies and measures in the various fields) confirmed the usefulness of accelerated R&D spending, which in the long run has been shown in the higher economic growth and higher productivity. DEA analysis calculated the relative efficiency for each of the parameters of the R&D spending for each country as well as the indicative proposals for improvements (either the reduction of inputs in order to achieve the same direct effect or output or vice versa, given the contributions of what should be the direct effect output that the country is to be effective). The current situation in Slovenia in the field of indicators related to the R&D is summarized. Using the nonparametric method, we reaffirm the conclusions on the efficiency of R&D spending in Slovenia. The results of the analysis indicate that Slovenia is relatively very inefficient in terms of R&D spending, innovation, and technology (the calculations of relative efficiency range from 30% to 60%)</dc:description><dc:description xml:lang="sl">Izhajajoč iz preučevanja učinkovitosti vlaganj v R & R, preverjamo v prispevku dosedanje ugotovitve, da sodi Slovenija med manj učinkovite države članice EU, saj s povprečno višino vlaganj v R & R dosega podpovprečno učinkovitost. Rezultati analize kažejo, da je Slovenija relativno zelo neučinkovita z vidika vlaganj v R & R, inovacije in tehnologijo (izračuni 30-60 % relativne učinkovitosti)</dc:description><edm:type>TEXT</edm:type><dc:type xml:lang="sl">znanstveno časopisje</dc:type><dc:type xml:lang="en">journals</dc:type><dc:type rdf:resource="http://www.wikidata.org/entity/Q361785" /></edm:ProvidedCHO><ore:Aggregation rdf:about="http://www.dlib.si/?URN=URN:NBN:SI:doc-TKWJJFPU"><edm:aggregatedCHO rdf:resource="URN:NBN:SI:doc-TKWJJFPU" /><edm:isShownBy rdf:resource="http://www.dlib.si/stream/URN:NBN:SI:doc-TKWJJFPU/b66f1fcb-5a78-4301-ac3a-c61085b0ea52/PDF" /><edm:rights rdf:resource="http://rightsstatements.org/vocab/InC/1.0/" /><edm:provider>Slovenian National E-content Aggregator</edm:provider><edm:intermediateProvider xml:lang="en">National and University Library of Slovenia</edm:intermediateProvider><edm:dataProvider xml:lang="sl">Univerza v Mariboru, Ekonomsko-poslovna fakulteta</edm:dataProvider><edm:object rdf:resource="http://www.dlib.si/streamdb/URN:NBN:SI:doc-TKWJJFPU/maxi/edm" /><edm:isShownAt rdf:resource="http://www.dlib.si/details/URN:NBN:SI:doc-TKWJJFPU" /></ore:Aggregation></rdf:RDF>
